GPK industry conference in Ulm
5 to 7 June 2011 the industry met under the slogan "With a vision to success" (Mit Weitblick zum Erfolg) in Ulm. It was the largest industry conference since the anniversary meeting of the Association for dining table, household items and home decor (Bundesverband für den gedeckten Tisch, Hausrat und Wohnkultur) in 2000 in Berlin. 290 participants from retail and its suppliers met for a constructive exchange of views. One focus of the presentations was the exciting topic of "Category Management". The industry project, created by GPK-Bundesveband and EK/Servicegroup together with the major suppliers, was presented to the industry for the first time in Ulm.

Maggi 125 years old this year!
From 8 June to 12 September 2011 the birthday girl presents itself as a big bottle on the tower and with an exhibition in the rooms of Castle Kronberg. "History with Taste" (Geschichte mit Geschmack) is the motto - in a journey of 125 years, visitors are to experience the Maggi seasoning in its many facets from its beginnings to the present day, including art objects, such as "I do not know a Weekend" (Ich kenne kein Weekend!) by Joseph Beuys. Many exhibits are on loan from the extensive archives of the museum at Maggi main plant in Siegen.

From July to December 2011 Le Creuset provides sales support and inspiration at the POS. The French manufacturer presents its core competence in cast iron as a leading point of the current sales campaign. Pleasant mood pictures load the subject of cooking with emotion and arouse the desire for more: The product categories cast iron, aluminum, Pottery, 3-ply and accessories offer eight pages of diversity and show by their optical link with familiar life the daily use of pots, pans & co . | Idea for a GPK community action?
For the third time wine shops in all of Germany invite to a huge wine festival. In 2010, some 40,000 wine lovers joined in. Now "The night of good wine" (Die Nacht der Guten Weine) is round three. On 23 September the wait is over. Already ideas abound and applications reach GEV. Every provider taking part will host his own party. Whether tasting mile, cooking show, cabaret, reading, catwalk or party with local celebrities - the sky is no limit to the dealers. www.dienachtdergutenweine.de

elementBottle promotion by alfi
With the Green-Mobil, the element-bottle and a package of creative ideas alfi goes on tour again. The dynamic campaign with the slogan "reusable instead of disposable" (Mehrweg statt Einweg) sets out to maximize frequentation rate in retail through infotainment and active winning games, which make element bottle well known and boost sales. Starting 1 July 2001, alfi supports the venture with attractive promotional materials. The deco package with announcement poster, flyers and ad template is accompanied by scheduling on the alfi homepage-level and time-targeted regional newsletter sendouts.

3rd Solingen Cutlery Saturday
On 16 July 2011 will be held the third Saturday of Solingen cutlery, with five traditional Solingen cutlery manufacture having joined forces opening their doors together. Lovers of fine knives and kitchen helpers can take a look behind the scenes and experience live how f.e. Güde Messer, Windmühlenmesser and Besteckmanufaktur Carl Mertens produce high quality cutting tools using traditional methods and by hand. Culinary events round out the program. SWR at Bessey & Flammer in Bühl
On 15 June SWR television shows a feature in the Landesschau about the theme of "Feng shui". It is about the work of Frau Schauz (Feng shui consultant of the year 2010). Since March, Sibylle and Christoph Engelhardt plan together with Frau Schauz the redecoration of their shop. Currently they are in the "hot phase", defining the materials. Farewell to Franz-Josef Kleine
The spiritual father of brand LEONARDO and for many years managing director of Glaskoch is dead. With Franz-Josef Kleine the industry loses not only a great entrepreneur, but also a visionary who lived with heart and soul for beautiful glass and its associated ideas. In 1968 Franz-Josef Kleine came to his father-in-law's company and ran it from 1977 on. In 2001 he retired from daily business and worked in the company as an advisor of the board. 2009 saw Glaskoch's 150th anniversary.

Pro Business selects board
The members of marketing association Pro Business confirmed its CEO Heinz Werner Ochs for another two years in office. Newly elected to the board were as Deputy Chairman Heinz Götz (Sales Manager and Attorney for firm Graef) and as the new Secretary Markus Reitz (Sales Manager of firm Thomas). Rudolf Schulte (CEO Severin Elektrogeräte GmbH, Sundern) was confirmed in his post as Treasurer.

Guide "Legally secure website"
Just now the Netzwerk Elektronischer Geschäftsverkehr (NEG) (Electronic Commerce Network), a support action by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), has issued the guide Rechtssichere Internetseiten ( "Legally secure web pages"). It shows in the areas of ownership declaration (Legal), online shop, data security and content rights violations the current state of the law. Premiere for vivanti
From 16 to 18 July the youngest member of the regional order days in Düsseldorf is lifted from the baptism. The vivanti intends to establish itself as the central meeting place for the wholesale and retail trade in the northwest. Over 30,000 sqm of exhibition space will be occupied.
